The Fall 2019 issue of The Marston's Grist, Marstons Mills Historical Society's quarterly newsletter, features an article by local historian Jim Gould on the history of Mystic Lake, starting with its Wampanoag name, ending with the founding of the The Indian Ponds Association in 1958 by former National Parks ranger Bruce McHenry to preserve the environment, encourage conservation and restore water quality. Both organizations are seeking new members. Join the Marstons Mills Historical Society for only $15. Join the Indian Ponds Association for only $25.
